While getting down from the train, a female constable slipped and died after falling

prabhattime.in While alighting from the run-through train Gurumukhi Express at Roza Railway Station, the woman constable slipped and both her legs went under the platform. The train was stopped by chain pulling. The seriously injured woman constable was taken out of the platform. The GRP sent her to the medical college. The doctor declared her dead. She had gone to Moradabad on official work. The constable’s maternal home is in village Bhattoipurva in Kanpur city and her in-laws’ house is in Kannauj.

Kiran Katiyar (36), wife of Shiv Patel, a resident of village Katetipur in Kannauj district, was recruited as a constable in the police department in the year 2016. The woman constable had gone to Moradabad on official work.

She had gone to Moradabad on Saturday morning to get the forensic report. She boarded the Gurumukhi Express train at Moradabad. Its stoppage is at Magalganj. She was not aware that the stoppage is not at Shahjahanpur. When the train was passing through Shahjahanpur at eight in the evening, the passengers told her that the train will not stop here. The train was passing slowly through platform number two at Roza railway station. When she tried to get down from the moving train, her feet slipped and both her feet went under the platform.
