Uttarakhand bus accident: Mini bus falls into Alaknanda river on Badrinath highway, 8 dead, 17 passengers were on board the bus

Uttarakhand Bus Accident: A horrific accident took place in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand on Saturday. A tempo traveller (mini bus) fell into the Alaknanda river on the Badrinath Highway. So far 8 people have been reported dead in the accident. There were 17 passengers in the bus, so the death toll is expected to increase. The devotees travelling in the bus were returning to Rishikesh after completing the Char Dham Yatra.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami wrote on Twitter- Received very sad news of a tempo traveler accident in Rudraprayag.

The local administration and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations. The injured have been sent to the nearest medical center for treatment. The District Magistrate has been ordered to investigate the incident.

I pray to God to grant the souls of the deceased a place in his feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense suffering.

Police (Uttarakhand Police) and SDRF team have reached the spot. Rescue operation is underway. Local people are helping the police.

The injured are being taken out and sent to the hospital. The seriously injured are being sent to Rishikesh AIIMS by helicopter.

Falling from the ravine reached Alaknanda

SP Dr. Vishakha Ashok Bhadane said that a tempo traveler fell from the highway into a ravine near Rantoli in Rudra Prayag.

Local people, SDRF, Fire Service, District Disaster Management and Water Police are conducting rescue operations.

Let us tell you here that the mini bus fell from the ravine and reached the Alaknanda river.

A laborer who went to rescue the people also died

The place where the accident happened, work of the railway project is going on. Three of their laborers jumped into the river to save the people.

Two of them came back, but 1 lost his life. The place where the mini bus fell is said to be 300 feet deep.
