India achieved a spectacular victory against Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 match. In this match played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9 (Sunday), Pakistan got a target of 120 runs to win, but it could not do anything in front of India’s strong bowling.
Boom-Boom Bumrah turned the whole ind vs pak match like this
The architect of the victory of the Indian team was ‘Yorker King’ Jasprit Bumrah. Pakistani batsmen looked helpless in front of Bumrah’s amazing bowling. Bumrah, who was the ‘Player of the Match’, took three wickets for just 14 runs in four overs.
It was on the strength of Bumrah’s lethal bowling that the Indian team was able to turn the match around. Bumrah gave the first success to the Indian team, when he dismissed opposition captain Babar Azam on the fourth ball of the fifth over.
Babar could not read the length ball of this legendary fast bowler and got caught by Suryakumar Yadav at first slip. Bumrah then gave the biggest blow to Pakistan on the first ball of the 15th over when he clean bowled Mohammad Rizwan.
Rizwan’s dismissal was the turning point of the match as he was completely set at the crease.
Pakistan had to score 21 runs to win in the last two overs and had five wickets in hand. From here, Pakistan’s hopes rested on Iftikhar Ahmed, but Bumrah showed him the way to the pavilion on the last ball of the 19th over. Iftikhar could not time the full-toss ball properly and Arshdeep Singh took the catch. Only three runs were scored in the 19th over of Pakistan’s innings.
Then Indian captain Rohit gave the last over to fast bowler Arshdeep Singh. Shaheen Afridi and Imad Wasim were present at the crease at that time. Arshdeep got Imad caught out on the very first ball and ended whatever little hope was left of Pakistan.
