The people of Bareilly are now preparing to get relief from the jam. A meeting regarding the light metro project in the city was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Soumya Aggarwal. Metro will run for about 22 km in Bareilly.

Metro will run for about 22 km in Bareilly. The consultant agency for preparing its AAR and DPR is M/s.
Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) was prepared by RITES Limited on the basis of data. Officials from all the relevant departments of the city, officials from the consultant agency, UP Metro Rail Corporation, UMTC participated in finalizing the corridor.

These are the two proposed corridors A corridor of about 12 km length from Railway Junction to Chowki Chauraha-Satellite Bus Stand-Ruhilkhand University-Funcity-Barrier-2 Tiraha. The second one is about 9.50 km. Length Chowki Square-Ayub Khan Square-Qutubkhana Square-Kuhadapir Tiraha-Delapir Tiraha (IVRI)-Barrier-2 Tiraha.

It was agreed to do AAR and DPR of the above two corridors. The form of metro will be decided on the basis of AAR report on both the corridors. The estimated cost of the above two corridors will be five thousand crores.
These people attended the meeting In the second phase, one corridor from Chowki intersection to CBganj on Rampur Road and another corridor from Railway Junction to South City turn on Badaun Road is also proposed to be built in the future.
Divisional Forest Officer Deeksha Bhandari, Secretary BDA Yogendra Kumar, SP Traffic Shivraj Singh, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Executive Engineer Public Works Department, ARM Roadways, officials of BDA Setu Nigam and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
