The NDA alliance has won 292 seats. However, BJP alone could not touch the majority (272) figure and had to be content with 240 seats. The opposition INDIA Block won 234 seats.
After the results, the exercise to form the government has started. On the one hand, BJP is in talks with its allies, while the opposition INDIA Block has also become active. After the results, today JDU and TDP will submit their support letters to BJP in Delhi, after which BJP can stake claim to form the government. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also called a cabinet meeting today. At the same time, NDA alliance and INDIA Block have also called a meeting of their allies.
