It is being told that about 160 people lived in the building, who are employees of the same company. Many of the workers living there were reportedly Indians.

Jaishankar said on Twitter, ‘Deeply shocked by the news of the fire incident in Kuwait city. Reportedly more than 40 people have died and more than 50 are hospitalised. Most of the victims are reported to be Indians.’
